Charging on the go is really easy
There are two types of charging cables in the vehicle's boot. One is for domestic use, and the other is for city roadside charging.
There are three ways to charge your Tesla rental car:
1. A Tesla Supercharger - this is the fastest, but most expensive way, to charge a Tesla.
2. A public charger - our cars all have a cable suitable for using public chargers. This is the best way to charge while you're shopping or relaxing in places like the Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools.
3. Charge at your accommodation. We also provide a charger for this, which will plug into a regular power point. This is the slowest way to charge, but the cheapest.
Charging times are determined by the charging station's power capacity and the charging power of the vehicle.
With superchargers, you will recover 100km of driving within 10 minutes.
On public charging stations, you will recover 100km of driving within 90 minutes.
On a domestic socket, you will recover 100km of driving within 7 hours.

Frequently Asked Tesla Questions
How do I unlock the tesla?
We will provide you with a key card. Place the key card on the circle near the driver's window to lock/unlock the vehicle from the outside. The Tesla app does not give you access to the rental vehicle's remote control features.
How much room is in a tesla?
We have Tesla Model Ys because they are incredibly spacious. You can comfortably have 5 adults in the car, with 3-5 bags in the boot. There is also more storage space in the front (frunk).
Are all the Tesla features enabled on your rental cars?
Yes, all standard features are enabled on our Tesla rental cars. This includes Spotify, Advanced Autopilot and all the Premium Connectivity features. https://www.tesla.com/support/connectivity

Can we pick up a car from the Christchurch Airport?
Yes absolutely, we can bring a car out to the Christchurch Airport for you, that is no trouble at all. We make the handover quick and easy, so you can get away on your adventure.
Can we pick up a car outside business hours?
Yes, in most cases, we can accommodate pickups outside business hours, either from our office in the city or from Christchurch Airport.
